In the middle of the 15th century Athens were occupied by the troops of sultan Mehmet II. A little later to commemorate this even they erected the Mosque which is today is knwon as Fethiye Mosque in Athens. Probably Mosque has been built over the riuns of more older sacral monument. You can find it near the Roman Forum in Athens
