The Library of Celsus it’s the most prominent monument of ancient city of Ephesus. You can find a lot of others ancient monuments in Ephesus like ancient theater or ancient bathes. But these monuments you can see in the other places. The library of Ephesus it’s unique. It’s quite difficult to find something like this.
Today the Library of Celsus is the impressive building with the beautiful façade. You can get to the library’s rooms through the courtyard decorated with marble. In the ancient times in the main room of Library the statue of the god of Athena was situated. Under this statue where the special room where was buried Julie Celsus the roman governor of the Ephesus city.
Near the library also was the place where the most honored philosophers are gathered. They disputed about different thing on the world and about their nature. So from this point of view the Library of Celsus also was the scientific center of the ancient world.
