First of all crete has all kinds of nature on his territory. And considering the fact that the territory of Greek island crete is not so big you can easily reach any point on island in few hours. (Of course you can do it thanks to developed roads on the island).

So what you can visit on the Crete. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful (you can repeat this world as many times as you want) beaches. And there are a lot of verity of the beaches on the Crete. For example, you can visit the beach with white sand near the Rethymno city or go to the south cost of the Crete and visit the palm beach near the Preverlli, or go to the south-west point of Crete island and visit the Gramvusa beach. And of course is the not complete list of the Crete’s beaches.

Also keep in mind that the Greek island crete is the place of birth of the first European civilization. I think that you heard the ancient Greek legends about Minotavr. The half of man and half of bull creature. And you may be heard about the place of labyrinth which was constructed by Dedal to keep this creature. And you heard about the fight between Minotavt and Greek hero of Tessye. That is all took place on the Crete island.

Today you can visit a lot of places on the Crete with the vestiges of this civilization. Most famous place is so called Knoss Palace which is located near the capital of the island. Another famous place is the Fest palace near the city of Mala.
In additional Crete has a lot of vestiges of the others civilizations which possesses the island during crete’s long history. Greek, Romans, Arabs – they all put their efforts in the Crete’s development.
And don’t forget that the Crete during a few centuries was under Venetians control. Actually all big cites on the Crete where developed by Venetians. So you can find a lot of Venetians buildings, church and fortresses on the Crete.
