Undeservedly neglected Rasnov fortress lies not far from the famous Bran castle. It was built in 1355.
Rasnov fortress endured a lot of sieges and capitulated only once – in 1612 when the source of water was out of the walls. After that a deep well (which exists today) has been delved inside. According to the legend it was dug by the Turkish prisoners in exchange of their liberty.
